Your members can add a Digital Membership Card to the Google Wallet or Apple Wallet on their phone. See Associating Digital Membership Cards with a subscription for how to set these up.
Displaying Digital Membership Card Installation page
Once available, members can access the cards by logging into their Member Self Service portal, which may be available on your website. There are two ways that the page allowing members to install a Digital Membership Card can be displayed in Member Self Service.
- From the top of the My Details view. When enabled, there will be a Digital Membership Card button at the top of their My Details view.
- By linking directly to the Digital Membership Card page. Note that the member will need to have logged in to access this page. A link, button or menu item can be provided directly to:
https://[YOUR MemNet].memnet.com.au/memberselfservice/MyMembershipCard.aspx
Note that this will not work as a shortcode in the MemNet plugin for WordPress or when this page is displayed in an iframe.
Installing a Digital Membership Card on your device
When the steps above are followed, members will be presented with the following page. This allows them to choose to install the card into Google Wallet (on an Android device) or Apple Wallet (on an iOS device) or both!
The process of installing the Digital Membership Card is slightly different for each type due to the functionality of each platform.
Google Wallet
The Digital Membership Card can be installed on Google Wallet from any browser. Upon clicking the Add to Google Wallet button, the user is asked to login to their Google account (or the account with the wallet they want to add the card to). Once logged in, they confirm that they wish to add the card, and the card will be synced to the Google Wallet on the mobile device(s) using the same Google account.
Apple Wallet
Adding the Digital Membership Card to Apple Wallet needs to be done from an Apple device. Clicking the Add to Apple Wallet button will download a file (in .pkpass format) that will open on your device and add the card to the wallet.
