To change the main person associated with a member you click the Switch Main Person button on the People tab of the member you want to change. Then select the new main person from the list and click update.
There is a number of reasons why the switch main person button would not be displayed, they include:
- No additional people exist on the membership, therefore no one exists to become the 'new' main person.
- The switch main person functionality has been disabled by a system administrator.
- You do not have edit permission for members (Button greyed out).
Please Note:
- If the person who will become the new main person does not exist on the membership, then their details must be entered as an additional person before they are set as the main person.
- If the 'old' main person's details are to be removed from the database their record can be deleted once they are no longer the main person and displayed as an additional person on the membership.
- It is possible to edit the main person's details (Name, address, phone etc.) rather swap the main person.
- Unless a separate accounting contact has been set for the Membership, the new main person will also become the accounting contact.
