MemNet support multiple Member Directories, each with their own configuration. To add a new Member Directory configuration click the Create New+ link at the bottom of Administration / System Configuration / Company Settings / Member Directory. You can edit, delete or view existing directories from here.
The Member Directory configuration page has the following options. Note that these setting affect this member directory only.

This unique name will be the identifier for this directory configuration. It is also used in the URL to call this version of the Directory. |

Once ticked this Directory can be accessed either in Member Self Service or publically via the direct URL |

Disable Public Access |
If you tick this checkbox MemNet will not allow access to this directory to anyone who has not logged in to Member Self Service or Admin. |

Disable member self-service edit |
If ticked then the member will not be able to edit the directory settings themselves. Those settings in this case will only be amendable in the admin system. |
|
Limit access to specific Website Roles |
If you select any Website roles (they are set up in Attributes) then only people who log in and have one of those roles will be able to access the Member Directory. Note: this option only comes up if you Disable Public Access. |

Search Options |

For each of these fields, check the checkbox to enable these as search fields on the member directory. You can set an alternate name to be displayed for each which defaults to the label used in MemNet. Select on the right is a selection is required to complete the search. |

| Note: that you are able to include/exclude individual Member Types from the Directory (refer to Type administration / Member Types and field ‘Exclude from Member Directory’). You can also exclude individual Members using ‘Exclude from Member Directory’ on their member profile. Finally, the Member can opt-out of being displayed in the directory, this is recorded in a separate field no the member profile called ‘Opt-out of Member Directory’. | |

Files are saved against the member. You can also determine the label that goes against the document in the directory display. |

Allow Summary Text |
This allows a summary description for the Member to be displayed in the results list |

Maximum Summary Text |
The maximum number of characters allowed in the summary text. defaults to 500 characters. |

This allows a more info page of more detailed information to be displayed |

Display Classification with logo |
It is possible to link a member classification to a series of logos to display a member's certifications of the like. to do this select the classification and the logos to be used as both the heading and the status of the certification. |

Set Email link to open a Form |
This creates a consistent method for a visitor to send an email to the Member on the Directory. If left off it will rely on the default email client software on the device being used by the visitor. |

Email Form Contact Category |
The Contact Category of the record written to the Member’s Contact History whenever a referral email is sent from the Directory. |
|
Map |
You can determine whether you want Google Maps to pin the searched, members on a map. Note it only maps the page of members. You can also determine:

Google Pin |
You can provide and upload your own custom ‘Pin’ for the map as well as an alternative one that will appear as you hover over a single member in the results. |

Page Size |
Determines the number of results by default that will appear on a page |
|
Number of Columns in results |
Can be 1, 2 or 3. Will affect the layout of each result. Should be taken into considerations when selecting the Page Size |

Randomise sequence of results |
If this is required, this box needs to be ticked and you need to contact support as we can only randomise directory results on a daily basis as we create random keys for each member overnight. The randomise job will need to be scheduled for you by support. |

Page Options |

Header and Footer |
There is an HTML Editor available if you would like to customise a header and footer for the Member Directory. The Member Directory can be implemented as a link on your website that opens a new window (for this the header and footer text would be relevant) or you can implement it as an iframe within a web site page. |
